Scope and ContentThe collection consists of the programmes collected by Cary Ellison during his twice-yearly tours of repertory theatres, complete with his notes and commentary.

Physical descriptionProgrammes were originally attached to loose sheets of paper within ringbinder folders or pages within hardback scrapbooks using adhesive tape. During the conservation process the tape was removed, along with all staples. To replicate Ellison's format, the programmes have been sewn onto archival backing sheets and placed within archival ringbinder boxes. Any numbers or notes written by Ellison on the original sheets of paper have been retained. Some of the programmes remain fragile and careful handling is required.
